WE ARE HIRING - Shop Assistant opportunity

SHOP ASSISTANT

We are looking to take on a confident and enthusiastic person to help in the shop, leading by example, problem solving, supporting our customers and other staff members and actively promoting the ethos of the shop.

JOB DUTIES

Store Assistant required for about 16hrs/week, weekday shift (fully flexible) plus holiday cover, willing to work on weekends when required.

Assist the Manager in:

• Picking, packing and weighing customer for click and collect.

• Picking, packing and weighing when customers require assistance in the shop.

• Assembly of Weekly Vegetable Boxes.

• Stock Rotation - effectively rotating stock.

• Stock replenishment - refilling scoop bins, jars and food dispensers

• Stock Taking - counting and recording stock.

• Ensure Food Hygiene Standards are maintained.

• Ensure Health and Safety is adhered to in the workplace.

• Cleaning and tidying the shop and store areas, staff facilities and kitchen area.

• Receiving and processing deliveries.

• Segregating shop waste accordingly for the bi-weekly pick up.

• We like our shop to promote understanding of zero waste and information about the products we sell, essential to get familiar with brands and products we sell to inform the clients when required.

• The above is a complete list but not exhaustive, we welcome proactive work, and this is essential for the role specially when working on solo shifts.

ABOUT YOU

• You will have a keen interest in the environment and a passion for promoting zero waste living.

• You will be physically fit - able to lift heavy weights (up to 20Kg).

• You will be good at timekeeping and be presentable for your shifts.

• You will have good numeracy skills - you will be accurate using a calculator and doing basic sums every day.

• You will have good handling of Excel and general good computer skills.

• You will be confident in talking to people, this is REALLY important! as You will be answering questions and delivering good customer service with a smile.

• A very important attribute is being friendly, personable and be able to relate and build good rapport with our customers.

• you will be able to work, self-motivate and be able to handle a busy shop at times, while keeping a great attitude!

• You will mostly be working alone in the store so must have good initiative and motivation to get things done with minimal supervision.

• Retail or Service Industry experience desirable but not required.
